Mini-Bluesbreaker

This is our take on a true classic, the 18W "Mini-Bluesbreaker" amp. From Gary Moore to ZZ Top, this amp has been immortalised in countless recordings since its release by Marshall. Then Marshall realised that they were making a loss on each unit sold, and discontinued the range. In the wake of this, boutique manufacturers such as ourselves have stepped up to the line to recreate this fantastic little amp.

With such a simple circuit, the most important part of the amp is the transformers. To this end, we use Heyboer made transformers, which have been recreated from an original set of Drake transformers. This gives us a rock solid base on which to build the rest of the amp.

The circuit board is then populated with Sozo capacitors and metal film resistors. The Sozos give the authentic sound of the mustard caps found in the original Marshalls, and the metal film resistors work with our layout technique to put the noise level through the floor.

Alpha pots and ceramic valve sockets provide the remaining detail, then everything is hooked up with high quality color-coded solid core wire.

The amp pictured was built to appear at the 2006 London Guitar Show, and some furthur pictures of it with some absolutely stunning guitars will very shortly become available.
